Throughout the Africa Unit, students will be working in pairs or groups to complete tasks and assignments. In addition, I will give students "quick quizzes" periodically in order to test them on their comprehension and application of the material. Students will receive points for the quizzes, participation (in pairs and groups), projects, and writing assignments. During one of the lessons, students will debate one another on teams. They will have to defend and support their claims and will be graded on their efforts and abilities to do so effectively. Formative assessments are included within each lesson plan.
